Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server User CAL (Includes Software Assurance)

Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010 is a project management, build management, and version control application for software development teams. This user CAL authorizes a user to access Visual Studio Team Foundation Server from any device (for example, when an employee accesses the server from a computer at work and another at home).

Device CALs are also available. A device CAL authorizes one computer to access Windows Server, regardless of the number of users (for example, on a shared workstation).

The Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) subscription that is bundled with some Visual Studio 2010 editions available through TechSoup provides a Team Foundation Server user CAL. Users of Visual Studio Team Explorer (available as a free download from Microsoft) or Visual Studio 2010 Team Explorer Everywhere need a Team Foundation Server user or device CAL to access Team Foundation Server.
