Microsoft Lync Server Device CAL - Standard (Includes Software Assurance)

This standard device client access licence (CAL) supports the instant messaging, presence, and PC-to-PC audio and video communications capabilities of Lync Server 2010 or Office Communications Server 2007 R2 on one computer, regardless of the number of users (for example, on a shared workstation).

Additional licences are required for audio, video, and web conferencing, application sharing, and enterprise telephony capabilities.

• An enterprise CAL provides all but voice telephony features when used with Lync Server 2010; voice telephony features require a plus CAL. To enable all features, all three CALs (standard, enterprise, and plus) are needed
• An enterprise CAL provides all these capabilities when used with Office Communications Server 2007 R2. To enable all features, both standard and enterprise CALs are needed.

User CALs and an external connector (EC) licence are also available. A user CAL authorizes one user to access Lync Server 2010 or Office Communications Server 2007 R2 from any device (for example, when an employee accesses the server from a computer at work and another at home). The EC licence allows any number of external users or devices to access a single installation of Lync Server 2010 or Office Communications Server 2007 R2.

Licence Only: This licence does not require media, licence keys, or setup codes.

Software Assurance: Under the Software Assurance program, you have the right to install any new release of products covered in the agreement during the term of your coverage.
