TechSoup New Zealand provides donated software and hardware from companies such as Microsoft to eligible New Zealand Charities, Voluntary and Community Groups registered as a charitable organisation under the New Zealand Income Tax Act 2004.
This is an exciting program to assist New Zealand Charities, Voluntary and Community Groups build their ICT capacity.
The TechSoup New Zealand Programme is provided by Community Information Strategies in partnership with TechSoup.
Both CISA and Compumentor/TechSoup are nonprofit organisations that are
part of a global partnership for technology donations with companies
such as Microsoft, with more companies to come.
Under the TechSoup New Zealand programme, receiving access to these donated products will involve a three stage online process:
1. Registration of your organisation's details and assessment of your eligibility for donations from current donor companies.
In all cases you will need to be registered as a charitable organisation under the New Zealand Income Tax Act 2004. To demonstrate this you will need to provde at least one of the following:
- Copy of your IRD tax exempt status letter
- Your Charities Commission Registration Number
Once we have received your details and assessed your eligibility, we will notify you as to whether you are eligible to proceed to the next stage. This should be a once-only registration process and will only need to be re-visited if your organisation's details change.

2. Ordering and payment.
Once you receive approval to proceed to the ordering stage, you will be
able to select the products you would like to order and to pay a small
administrative fee, via credit card, via Paypal or by cheque, to have
your orders fulfilled. This fee is to cover TechSoup New Zealand's
administrative costs in delivering the program. Please plan carefully
before making orders because in most cases you are restricted to one
order per supplier per year.
Important Note: It is important that you carefully read the guidelines
and ordering particulars for each donor partner before you place an
order on TechSoup New Zealand. For information regarding Microsoft please click here
3. Delivery of your donated product/s.
Once your administration payment is cleared, we will lodge your order
with the relevant companies. Microsoft orders are not sent directly
from TechSoup New Zealand but typically ship within 2 week from the
date the order is placed and the administrative fee paid. Please also
note that you may receive some items earlier than others due to one or
more items being out of stock at the time of your order.
