Disability Resource Centre Hawkes Bay Trust
A charitable trust, first started in 1983, the Disability Resource Centre Hawkes Bay Trust has a long history of working with people on the margins of society, within the disability sector. It is committed to the promotion of independence of people with disabilities to enhance inclusion in the community.
The Disability Resource Centre (H.B) Trust provides overall Governance to Home Support, Network Personnel and Turning Point – who each have their own Mission Statement relative to their specialist area and the services they provide to the Hawkes Bay and/or Central Hawkes Bay Community.
"Our organisation has 6 different areas of operation and for many years we have been building our IT network based on a piecemeal approach. Often when examining new applications or desirable software we have been put off by the costs and continued to make do. Recently we have been attempting to update some financial and database software and found ourselves limited by some of the older applications we were using.
Fortunately we found Techsoup New Zelaland which has turned out to be a marvellous discovery. Not only have we been able to obtain the latest Microsoft software as a donation but, obtaining donated software through TechSoup has enabled us to implement an IT upgrading planning process which we would not have been able to do otherwise. Because of TechSoup New Zealand and the generosity of Microsoft we are covering all bases.
We have found the staff to be very helpful and efficient and the overall process easy to use.
Thanks Techsoup, Microsoft and all the other software providers involved.
