If you answered YES to these questions, then come along to a FREE workshop introducing the basics of Web 2.0 and social media, especially tailored for community groups. It's happening at six locations across Auckland city, sponsored by Auckland Council.

The next workshops for 2011 are happening from 9.30am - 12.00noon at the following locations:
Selwyn Community Education at Selwyn College, Orakei - 16th or 30th November 2011
Ponsonby Community Centre, Ponsonby - 14th December 2011
What will the workshop cover?
The workshop will provide you with an introduction to the basic terms and building blocks of 'Web 2.0' and social media, including:
- social networks (e.g. Facebook)
- social bookmarking (e.g. Delicious)
- RSS
- Google services
- citizen journalism
- blogging
- wikis
- podcasting
The workshops will run for two and a half hours in total, beginning with a seminar and ending with a practical session. You'll get the opportunity to try out some of the great tools we talk about on the day, and information and resources to take home. Attendance is free!
