Microsoft Software Donation Program Admin Fee Increases Coming July 1
TechSoup New Zealand Microsoft admin fee price rise

TechSoup New Zealand Microsoft admin fee price rise
Because we knew many of the nonprofits we serve planned to request product donations in-line with our fiscal year end cycle (which runs from July 1 through June 30), we held admin fees at the current levels until July 1, 2010. However:
-
Any Microsoft order placed on or before 30 June 2010 that remained unpaid by 1 July 2010 has now been cancelled.
-
Any Microsoft order placed on or before 30 June 2010 that remained unpaid by 1 July 2010 has been cancelled. Payments received after this date will be returned.
How are our administration fees determined?
The administration fees for Microsoft donations are increasing 1 July. The TechSoup Global network (of which we are a member) has an agreement with Microsoft on what is an acceptable level of administration fees to pass on to you, our customers. This level has been set at approximately 4 per cent of each product's retail value.
Administration fee increase explained
As a nonprofit ourselves we understand that any fee increase is a concern so we have highlighted key points of which we would like you to be aware
- The changes that have occurred are directly proportional to Microsoft’s global retail pricing increase and are not an act of arbitrariness on our behalf.
- The monetary value of Software Assurance benefits, previously not accounted for in administration fees is now being acknowledged in the new fee structure.
- Most significantly, for the past 4 years we have absorbed significant cost increases and overheads to continue to provide high volume customer support and technology information. The fee increases will enable us to keep the Microsoft donation program sustainable and allow us to continue providing the quality of customer service and information standards you’ve come to expect from us, while helping you maintain the highest levels of technology capability possible.
- Donated products through TechSoup New Zealand are still the best value for eligible Australian nonprofits
