NetHui – 11-13 July 2012
Next month, InternetNZ is convening NetHui 2012, New Zealand's conference about the Internet, which is now in its second year. The theme this year is ‘Shaping our Future Together'. The conference aims to cover the broader issues of internet access, safety, security, governance, business, openness, education and more. People from all sectors New Zealand society attend.
The programme has been designed to bring together the many different sectors and communities with an interest in the Internet to discuss the hot issues, network with each other and provide fertile ground for collaboration.
Chief Executive Vikram Kumar says, "The first NetHui attracted 500 participants, demonstrating the need for people to get together, talk about the benefits and how to realise them, and deal with key Internet-related issues in our society and economy."
"InternetNZ is proud to facilitate a conference that is like the Internet itself - where everyone is an equal and valued participant. NetHui seeks to bring together different perspectives on Internet-related issues leading to networked action," says Kumar.
The programme for NetHui has been developed collaboratively with participants in the months prior to NetHui. The first two days revolve around discussions sessions, panels and community Events. The third day features keynotes, a panel and a barcamp with sessions determined by participants on the day.
NetHui 2012 will be held over three days from 11-13 July 2012 in Auckland. Registration for the first two days is now full; however, you can still register for the third day.
