Our office will be closed from 5.30pm Wednesday afternoon, the 24th of December and reopen at 11.30am, Monday morning on the 5th of January.

You can still place orders during this time. If you submit support requests, our Customer Experience team will respond after the office reopens in January.

Unsung IT Heroes celebrated at NZ Charities Technology Awards 2019 in Auckland

The annual TechSoup New Zealand Awards in Auckland saw some of the best non-profit proponents of technology recognised last week during a gala dinner at the Waipuna Hotel.

The awards, on the first day of the TechSoup New Zealand ‘Transform’ Conference, celebrated technology innovation and service excellence from organisations across the country.

Six categories highlighted the achievements of everyone from volunteers, to social media campaigners, to accidental IT people, to those who have given decades of service.

All winners and finalists were invited to the stage to receive applause from their peers, with Not for Profit Lifetime Service Winner Kevin O’Sullivan receiving the longest ovation of the evening for his work with the Coastguard.

Other winners included John Lau for his voluntary work at the Documentary Edge Film Festival, and Amanda Cooper for her outstanding contribution as an ‘accidental IT person’ at The Hepatitis Foundation.


The awards took place as part of the TechSoup New Zealand Conference 2019 at the Waipuna Hotel.

Winner: Amanda Cooper. Finalist: Angelo Libeau

Category: Not for Profit Technology Innovator of the Year

Winner: Sticks ‘n Stones Inc. Finalist: Coastguard Northern Region

Category: Using Technology To Connect to the Community – Best Small to Medium Enterprise

Winner: Friendly Ltd

Category: Not for Profit Technology Lifetime Service Award

Winner: Kevin O’Sullivan, Coastguard
