Tech tools for NFP techies (Webinar)
This session is geared towards small to medium sized organisations (under 75 staff), where you may be an IT professional or an accidental techie who has to wear more than one hat and juggle tech responsibilities with others while trying to keep your workload focused on the mission.
We will be discussing specific technical tools -- low cost or free -- to help you make decisions related to supporting users, running a network, disaster recovery and managing IT staff if you are fortunate enough to have some. We'll explore several different kinds of tools for managing computers and software on a network, with examples appropriate to different sized organisations and skill sets. We will talk about cloud technology that is available and how it's worked for us so you can draw your own conclusions.
We will provide anecdotes from experiences, examples of techniques that have worked and not worked, and details about some of the tools that can make managing IT easier. We'll review examples of decisions and their ramifications based on ease of use vs ease of administration so that IT managers can provide the right support for the end users in their organisation.
