The 220 V ac Power Supply module converts alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC) and distributes power to the backplane and to all the modules in the chassis. Each module includes status indicators and a power connector. When using the 220 V ac Power Supply module, circuit protection must be supplied by the customer. In a redundant configuration, two Power Supply modules operate in a load-sharing mode to increase system reliability. This configuration ensures that as long as one Power Supply module is active, all other modules are fully powered. When two Power Supply modules are installed, each normally runs at one-half of its capacity. If one Power Supply module fails, the other module takes over completely.

The iMac "Core i7" 3.5 27-Inch Aluminum (Late 2013) originally was offered as a "configure-to-order" configuration of the iMac "Core i5" 3.4 27-Inch Aluminum (Late 2013), but was sold as a standard configuration, too. Other than processor (and the corresponding level 3 cache), these two models can be identical.
