HP MSM317 Access Device integrates wired and wireless connectivity into a small unit that can be quickly and discretely installed in a standard wall outlet box. It provides four Ethernet ports, a 2.4-GHz wireless access point, and a pass-through RJ-45 connection to support a range of service and user connectivity options.

The 220 V ac Power Supply module converts alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC) and distributes power to the backplane and to all the modules in the chassis. Each module includes status indicators and a power connector. When using the 220 V ac Power Supply module, circuit protection must be supplied by the customer. In a redundant configuration, two Power Supply modules operate in a load-sharing mode to increase system reliability. This configuration ensures that as long as one Power Supply module is active, all other modules are fully powered. When two Power Supply modules are installed, each normally runs at one-half of its capacity. If one Power Supply module fails, the other module takes over completely.
