  The Heart foundation is New Zealand's heart health charity working to stop New Zealanders dying prematurely from heart disease.  It is committed to promoting heart health through funding vital research, promoting heart healthy lifestyles and advancing cardiac care. The Foundation is an organisation with over 120 staff.  Recently the organisation wanted to do a complete upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7, and TechSoup New Zealand was able to help. 

Now celebrating its 11th anniversary, the Microsoft Imagine Cup is the world's premier student technology competition - focused on finding solutions to real-world issues. The competition encourages the world's most talented designers, programmers, developers, and technology enthusiasts to tackle - head on - issues related to: the fight against hunger, disaster relief, poverty, secure energy systems, education, disease control, healthcare, the environment, assisting people with disabilities, and many other critical problems.

In the community sector in New Zealand, there is a common struggle to operate on limited budgets, with increased demands on services. Recently, the challenge has been increased even further with many funders calling for a greater level of collaboration between organisations.

NetSquared Auckland is picking up steam, and building a following after running a second successful meet-up at the end of September. Approximately 20 guests joined Corrie Dark, World Vision New Zealand's digital manager at The Kitchen as she shared her valuable insights and expertise on the marketing and technology landscape, in particular how to create a strong social media foundation.
