It's a well-known sales adage that 'if people don't trust you, they won't buy from you'. Have you ever been keen to purchase something from someone you didn't have confidence in? Never has a truer word been spoken when it comes to charity partnerships and association sponsorships.Posted on 30/10/2017 by

Since introducing the IT Connect Program, we've had a lot of questions about it - what it is, who it's for, how it works, and why we're doing it. So we thought we'd take some time to answer these questions for you! What is the IT Connect Program? Put simply, the program is a referral service for organisations that need help with their IT. We have provided donated and discounted software for many many years, but in listening to our members we realised there was a gap. Many organisations don't have their own IT staff and have not entered a relationship with an IT provider or integrator. Obtaining software such as Office365 or Azure is only the first step in the solution - it needs to be integrated and implemented in your organisation before it can start helping you.Posted on 20/09/2017 by

Getting access to the latest technology is one thing - but having the IT support to learn how to implement and use it is another. That doesn't have to be a problem anymore though, thanks to a new TechSoup New Zealand partnership with trusted IT companies who can provide you with the services your NFP organisation needs - at discounted rates. Because it's part of TechSoup New Zealand's mission is to provide access to donated and discounted technology to the not-for-profit sector, we want to help organisations that might not have their own IT department with the support they need to keep making a difference. So, get in touch to find out how our trusted partners can be your IT team and take care of every aspect of your technology needs. As a trusted partner in the IT Connect Program, each service provider has been vetted for high standards of customer service, understanding of sector needs, and commitment to providing the best price possible.Posted on 04/09/2017 by

Kate Sunners is the Communications and Grants Strategist at Strategic Grants. A natural-born storyteller, Kate’s career highlights include manuscript and book reviewer, freelance copywriter, and marketing coordinator. At Strategic Grants, she lives her passion every day in writing, editing, and fine-tuning compelling grant applications for charities and NFPs. All too often, we can focus too much on getting the facts out of our brains and onto paper when explaining what we need, what we would do with the money, and why the funder should give it to us, without thinking about how it looks to the reader! Kate’s skillset and perspective give her insight into the storytelling nature of successful grant applications, and why it’s important to create a narrative that potential funders can understand and which inspires them to give.Posted on 15/08/2017 by

Information is the lifeblood of any organisation, and our not-for-profit organisations often deal with very sensitive personal information. Irrespective of whether you are intending to work around the corner at your preferred coffee shop, in an airport lounge while waiting to catch a domestic flight, about to embark on overseas travel or to attend a conference, there are common requirements when information is being used outside of the regular office environment.Posted on 23/09/2016 by
