GoDigi is Australia’s first attempt to address the growing issue of digital exclusion in a holistic way . Delivered by Infoxchange and funded by Australia Post as part of the Our Neighbourhood Community programme GoDigi consists of six critical elements aimed to reach and increase the digital literacy and confidence of over 300,000 Australians. This webinar takes you through the digital inclusion work of Infoxchange and drills down on the Go Digi project.
About the presenter - Brendan Fitzgerald, Digital Inclusion Manager, Infoxchange
Brendan has extensive experience in developing and delivering community based ICT programs. He currently oversees the implementation and development of Infoxchange’s Digital Inclusion Strategy. This includes a range initiatives which engages disadvantaged people with digital technologies including programmes that connect low income public housing residents with affordable technology and work that builds research on Digital Inclusion in Australia. Prior to joining Infoxchange, Brendan worked for 13 years in Vicnet at the State Library of Victoria, including as General Manager from 2006 to 2012. He was convenor for the National My Language partnership project and Chair of the Victorian ICT Disability Working Group. Trained as a Librarian, Brendan understands how access and effective use of information can impact. Brendan has a deep appreciation of the issues confronting disadvantaged people in relation to digital technologies and was one of Australia’s Ambassadors to the UN sponsored Internet Government Forum representing Australia at the 2013 IGF in Indonesia.
